We’ve
been busy at Ideas-Shared HQ putting together the final functionality of the
community; and as we’re nearing the completion of the site it’s time to reflect
just what we’ve created.

You’d
be mistaken to think that Ideas-Shared is just an ideas site; in reality it is
so much more and that has been our challenge.

We
wanted to create a community without boundaries; one where everyone online
could gain a purposeful experience with tangible benefits.

The
Internet offers so much instantaneous gratification yet it is still a highly
fragmented environment. We can bring together so many elements, so many people
who can feed off of each other whilst undertaking many interesting projects.

We
don’t just do ideas, we enable teamwork and collaboration to overcome
challenges and we also offer petitions to get things changed.

Like
every great entity, we never seems to be totally finished and there are a few
more things that we are going to add to the site. These should be available
over the next week or so and then our development will finally be over; at
least for a while!

Now
our journey goes from development to marketing as we look to get our site in
front of and used by millions of people.

Whatever
the future, we’re focussed on bringing you and all our visitors a lot of value
and pleasure from the utilisation of our tools.

We’ll
try and keep our blog updated moreover as we continue our journey; and if you’ve
not logged in to see what all the fuss is about, do it now and be amazed at
what can be achieved by a small and dedicated team.

Is Online Marketing Destroying Social Networking?

WOW, now that's an interesting question and one that is being asked throughout the web!

There's nothing intrinsically wrong with online marketing or internet marketing as a process. But what is wrong are the numerous claims that are made about certain products being sold through this medium as effectively the best thing since sliced bread... which they clearly aren't!

Clearly, the Internet has drawn a lot of people online to sell products... and the only real view of a product quality or value is the refund or the opt out.

But what has that to do with social media or social networking?

Clearly, when you have a market as big as social networking, it's obvious that advertisers are going to spend a lot of money trying to get to those customers.

However, internet marketers and business in general is missing out on the real opportunity for developing real trust and two way buyer/seller collaboration and communication using a hybrid of social media!

Imagine these two scenario's:

Scenario 1: Online Marketing

A seller creates a website and advertises his/her product using the latest internet marketing techniques. A potential buyer sees the ad and subscribes to an email. The buyer is now going to get up to 7 emails with videos and great ad copy telling them how great the product is; they might even get some incentives to buy and possibly even some 'valuable' bonuses... the buyer then pays the money and the product is electronically or physically delivered. The buyer will review the product and either obtains value from it or request a refund. The seller may continue to market to the buyer through up-sells or cross-selling other products until eventually that person unsubscribes or is removed from the list.

Notice in these types of arrangements there is no real 2 way communication or 2 way relationship where the buyer can influence the seller. Its a very reactive (yet highly lucrative) process that usually favours the seller.

Scenario 2: Social Media

In this scenario we can look at the process social media has in the selling process.

This time a seller creates a website on a social media site and through his/her efforts attracts people to the site where he/she advertises products/links through to a sales site. In addition, he/she has an area of their site set aside for existing customers to offer content, testimonials etc that say how great the product is (or isn't) and that place enables two way communication and relationship development.

Now the potential buyer sees the web page/landing page and
joins a group. The buyer is now eligible to see all the content the seller and other buyers have added... and yes, it might even show videos and provide incentives to buy and possibly even some 'valuable'
bonuses... again the buyer pays the money and the product is
electronically or physically delivered.

The buyer reviews the
product and either obtains value from it or request a refund.

But this time, throughout the entire process, the seller enables all of his/her customers to come together and discuss products, advise challenges and give ideas.

This process builds the relationship and trust so that the buyer doesn't need to be sold to. In these types of arrangements there is real 2 way
communication and 2 way relationships where the buyer most definitely influences the
seller. It's a very proactive process that favours both the buyer and the seller.

In this example, you'll see that it's not internet marketing that driving the process but social media itself!

That's the value of having the right process involved in your communications and selling process. And that's where Ideas-Shared comes in... because we're first and foremost a resource that drives the situation as in scenario two above.

In our lives, we're taught to live in many small boxes. These boxes represent individual ideas, thoughts and beliefs that do not always correlate with the ideas, thoughts and beliefs of others.

This causes stress and pain in the World and can leave you feeling isolated.

Have you ever heard of the phrase 'divide and conquer'?

Quite simply when people are divided by thought and deed it is easy for others to conquer them. But when people rise up and collaborate it becomes very difficult to conquer them.

Just look at what's happens in Libya recently.

For years the Libyan Regime has led its people down a path of struggle and strife. It led to the deaths of many innocent people...

How much a part the Internet played in galvanising popular support, but it's likely that it did play some part in bringing the people together to achieve their aims.

That principle of collaboration to achieve a particular aim is exactly what Ideas-Shared is built on. It is here that all people of the World can congregate, discuss, choose how they want to collaborate in a way that makes their home life, their community and their business better.

Collaboration is the key to over-turning many injustices and improving the quality of life for so many people.

That collaboration is needed in so many countries including the UK where we live. Now that collaboration isn't just a political or ideological collaboration; this collaboration is one where we as communities come together to solve everyday problems.

Cash is tight, taxation is simply not enough to cover all government costs, there is economic unrest and unprecedented debt both at a national level and also at a individual family level.

Throughout all this, we still need to find people to help us in our daily lives, whether at home, school, in clubs, charities, councils or business.

The question each of us as individual need to ask is whether or not to come together and collaborate to over come those issues that blight our lives? Or should we just sit back and turn the other cheek?

Clearly by coming together, by collaborating together things can happen... what these are will depend on the strength of feeling of all concerned, but the offer and potential is there if you're willing to take it.

By joining Ideas-Shared you open up the potential to collaborate with others to achieve a particular purpose either now or in the future.

There is no cost to use our tools to drive change or connect with people do achieve something... all you need is a willingness to overturn an injustice or to make an improvement!

Do you have the commitment and resilience to do something positive today? Are you willing to look outside the box and do things differently?

If so then you need to join our community this very instance! The future needs our help... our kids need our help, so let's start to collaborate in a hundred and one different programmes to make our homes, communities and business better tomorrow!

Anything is achievable if only we open our eye to the potential and start to collaborate!

Ideas-Shared is a free platform that allows for individuals to come together to develop ideas and overcome challenges. It's also a place for individuals to obtain agreement prior to taking some kind of particular action.

These actions are needed right throughout society and business in order to get things done!

In many instances, these ideas and challenges stem from individuals with opposing views. That doesn't mean to say one should put up the shutters and ignore the other party... nor should it mean that decisions are made when most people are against those decisions!

The problem is, society has created many organisations, quangos, committees... that talk too much... waste a lot of time... do not bring the majority of people with them... many have their own agendas that often result in very little actually happening!

What Ideas-Shared strives for is collaboration, transparency and action between those that have a real interest in a particular topic.

Anyone can start a topic... anyone can create a group and invite others to help... there are no limits to participation and there is no cost!

Action groups, clubs, charities, schools, parents, business people, politicians, authorities... in fact anyone can join and help or request to be helped!

Here at www.ideas-shared.com we invite people from all walks of life to get involved in whatever they want, there's no politics, no nonsense, no bull! Just straight forward discussions to achieve something that you think has value.

Eighteen months in development, Ideas-Shared has been a
passion of Ivar Ingimarsson and Bob Thompson. What’s extraordinary is that Ivar
and Bob only came together when taking their sons to school.

Ivar goes on to say “I shared my ideas with Bob and now we
have a wonderful tool for everyone to use. It’s been a challenge given we’re
only a small team, but we made it in the end!”

And what a feat of web development Ideas-Shared is… with
Individual, Global and Custom Modules specifically created to develop ideas,
overcome challenges as well as petition for change.

It’s a unique combination that will be launched officially
in January 2012.

Bob goes on to say “Ideas-Shared is nearing completion of
development, but that’s not the end. Now we’re positioning Ideas-Shared as a
tool for everyone to get involved and share!”

Ideas-Shared is free to join and doesn’t cost a penny!

And with the potential to create massive benefit in so many
ways locally, nationally and globally, it really is exciting times ahead for everyone
involved!
